Comments:

"Yesterday's Sunshine" is more or less an extended version of Grapefruit's fine 1968 album "Around Grapefruit" - all songs from that album are included in improved and in some cases alternative versions. Furthermore, there is a good handful of songs from the same period, mostly at full level with the album's original songs.

The group's main asset, in addition to being associated with the Beatles, was songwriter Alex Young (George Alexander), who was the brother of the AC/DC brothers and George Young from the Easybeats. Fine songs like Lullaby, Dead Boot, Another Game and Someday Soon is up there with the best of pscychedelia period in the late 1960s. Among the "new" songs "One More Try" a highlight, but all previously unreleased tracks are easily worthy of commercial release.

In 1969, the group tried in other more blues-oriented direction and released the album "Deep Water," which had its moments, but never reached the level of "Around Grapefruit". Interesting to notice how much the songwriting of Alex Young is reminiscent of his brother George Young's and the sound of the Easybeats in general,
