Comments:

On Miss B. Haven's second English-language album, "Nobody's Angel" from 1990, all sails are set to reach the desired international breakthrough. Internationally recognized producers Jeff Lynne and Duncan Bridgeman were hired to produce brand new songs as well as remakes some of the best songs from previous albums. This has obviously given the group a more international sound, but perhaps also to some extent deprived it of some of the edge that the group was originally known for.

Jeff Lynne's distinctive sound from The Traveling Wilburys, George Harrison and others is quite significant on the three tracks he has produced. "Nobody's Angel" originates from the 1988 album "Ice on Fire", but this is a completely new recording which is actually really successful. A really great song by the way. "You're Wrong" from "On Honeymoon" has been transformed from a semi-acoustic country thing to a solid pop rocker. Again, really successful. Last Jeff Lynne's production is a remake of the cool power-pop ballad "Sand in My Eyes", which is also taken from "Ice on Fire". Again a nice upgrade.

Duncan Bridgeman is in charge of six numbers that are more uneven in quality. The two brand new songs "Gimme What I Want" and "Garden Mercy" are perhaps the least interesting songs on the album; At least "Gimme What I Want" is a rather ordinary simple upbeat rocker. A remake of Steve Harley's "Make Me Smile" - is solid, but no more. The two singles "Suzanne" and "Making Love in the Snow" have got new and different lives; Especially "Making Love in the Snow" has been transformed from country to solid pop rock. "Suzanne" is one of the group's strongest songs. The fine ballad "Lean on Me" ("Ti stille"), which comes from "On Honeymoon", is given new English lyrics; and is overall also really successful.

The final track "TipToe" from "Ice in Fire" is the original Finn Verwohlt production, , but the song was remixed by Walter Samuel. A really nice soul-pop song and a perfect album closer.
