KING CRIMSON

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:

King Crimson is a progressive rock band founded in 1969 centered around guitarist Robert Fripp, who is the only original member.

There have been numerous line-up changes during the years. And the have been two periods when band was inactive. (1974-81 and 1984-1994 )

Band Members:

Robert Fripp: Born May 1946. Composer, guitarist and keyboard-player. Fripp has been the only permanent member

Pete Sinfield: Born 1943. Lyrics for the first 4 albums

Greg Lake: Born: 1947. Singer, bass and songwriter. Left midways during the recordings of the second album

Michael Giles: Born: 1947. Drummer on the first two albums.

Ian McDonald: Born May 1946. Woodwinds and keyboards on first album. McDonald guest-appeared on on "Red" in 1974

Peter Giles: Born 1944. Bass on second album

Mel Collins: Born: 1947. Saxophone and flute. Appears on 2,3 and 4th albums

Keith Tippett: Born: 1947. Keyboards. Appears on 2,3 and 4th albums

Gordon Haskell: Born May 1946. Singer and bass. Appears on second and third album.

Andy McCulloch: Born 1945. Drums. Appears on "Lizard"

Boz Burrell: Born: 1946. Bass. Appears only on "Islands". Burrell is also known from Bad Company

Ian Wallace: Born: 1946. Drummer. Appears only on "Islands".

Richard Palmer-James: Born May 1947. Lyrics for "Larks' Tongues in Aspic", "Starless and Bible Black" and "Red"

John Wetton: Born 1949. Bass, vocals and keyboards on "Larks' Tongues in Aspic", "Starless and Bible Black" and "Red"

Bill Bruford: Born: 1949. Drums. Plays on 5th-11th albums

David Cross: Born: 1949. Violin and keyboards. Plays on "Larks' Tongues in Aspic", "Starless and Bible Black" and "Red"

Adrian Belew: Born: 1949. Guitarist, singer, songwriter. Member since 1981

Tony Levin: Born May 1946. Bass. Appears on "Discipline", "Beat" "Pair" and "THRAK"

Trey Gunn: Born 1960. Guitar. Member during 1994-2003
