BLUR

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:

Blur was formed in Colchester UK in summer 1989. The started out using the name "Seymour", but after having signed with Food Records they were persuaded to change their name into "Blur"
In 1990 they had their first single "She´s So High" released and it became a minor hit.
Together with Manchester group "Oasis", Blur became main exponents for the new "Brit-Pop" movement
After a string of chart-topping singles and two artically and commercially highly succesful album, they radically changed their sound to a much simpler and less commercial guitar-based approach. With the single 1997 "Beeltebum" and the accompaning album they maintained most of their popularity, but tensions were grwowing inside the band. Lead singer Damon Albarn had begun a parallel career in the band Gorillaz, a band that eventually grew to become more popular than Blur
Guitarist Bruce Coxon left after the 1999 album "13", but they continue as a trio and have released one more album "Think Tank" as such

Band Members:
