SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Formed in New York around 1974 by guitarist and singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. With Jimmy Destri ( keyboards ), bassist Gary Valentine and drummer Clement Burke they recorded their first album "Blondie" released on Private Stock in 1976
The album was quite successful and the general interest in the band made them sign with Chrysalis and their following albums were released on that label. By the time of the release of their second albums "Plastic Letters" early 1978 Valentine had left and Frank Infante (drums ) and Nigel Harrison ( bass ) had joined. Their 3rd album "Parallel Lines" was an international success featuring 3 big hit-singles
Internal trouble and declining succes in the early 1980´s ended with a break-up in 1982. At that time they had released 6 studio albums
In 1998 Harry and Stein rejoined to re-form Blondie with two other previous members, Burke and Destri and they began touring and recording again
