Prince James, 18, is second in line to the throne of England, and the twin brother of Prince William. Tall, blue eyed and athletic, the eldest son of Prince Charles and the late Princes Diana has just finished his last year at Milton Abbey School, and will be moving on to university. He finds himeself, to his amusement, the subject of fan clubs, posters and many, many crushes. Girls give him the screams and attention normally reserved for film and rock stars. James himself has commented that he *Feels like one of the Beatles.* Last Valentines Day he recieved mailbags full of cards. He already has glamour because of who he is, and it is becoming clear that his good looks and easy charm is proving to be irresistable to young women.

Interview with Elaine Whitworth Elaine Whitworth- How did you celebrate your birthday?
Prince James- I took an exam. Great way to spend a birthday, eh?
EW-So, when did you finish your exams?
PJ- I finished on the 28th, thank God. I wasn't sure I was going to make it for a moment there! (laughs)
EW- When will you get the chance to celebrate? What are you planning on doing?
PJ- I will celebrate in July with a few mates. Nothing too big, but not small either. I'm sure you will hear about it.
EW- Have you enjoyed Milton Abbey? What will you miss most, and what will you be glad to say goodbye to?
PJ- I have had a wonderful time at Milton Abbey, and will miss it horribly. I will of course miss my friends and my housemaster. I'm not sure I will be glad to say good-bye to much of anything.
EW- Have you agreed to be photographed at Milton Abbey in honor of your coming of age?
PJ- No, I have not agreed to anything like that. They will be releasing a few never before seen photos of me though for the great honor that I have experienced in turing 18 years of age.
EW- There have been rumors that you're thinking of going to University in the US. Is there any truth to them, and if so, are you worried about what the move might do to your popularity with the British people?
PJ- Wow, an actual rumor with truth behind it. Catch me before I faint. Yes, I will be attending university in the states, and no, I am not worried about my popularity in Britain. I have never worried about my popularity, and I never will. I don't need to be elected to the throne.
EW- Which University would you be attending?
PJ- I will be attending the University of Chicago. Guess where it is located. (laughs)
EW- Have you chosen a major?
PJ- No, I haven't.
EW- Are you concerned about the stresses of being accepted in a completely different school, in a different country?
PJ- No.
EW- Surely you will not be as sheiled from the press as you were at Milton Abbey, give a damn?
PJ-I will just have to hope that the press grows some morals.
EW- How do you cope with media attention?
PJ- By drinking heavely. (laughs) Just kidding. I have learned to accept it, just as a disabled person accepts their disabilty.
EW- Are there any particular rumors you would like to dispel?
PJ- I am not an alcholic, I am not a druggie, I am not a womanizer, and, no, you do not know me.
EW- What about women, James? Anyone special in your life nowadays?
PJ- Everyone in my life is special. They wouldn't be in my life if they weren't. (smiles cheekily)
EW- Can you tell me anything about your relationship with Brooke DeLaurens?
PJ- Brooke is someone whom I shall always love, and that is more than what I should say about that.
EW- What do you like to do for fun?
PJ- I like to hang about with my mates, go to the cinema, listen to music, play sports. Nothing very unusual.
EW- What sort of music and movies do you prefer?
PJ- I enjoy listening to Green Day, Blink 182, Eminem, and Cibo Mato. Those are my favorites. I like horror and comedy films.
EW- Who are your favorite actors and actresses? PJ- Tom Hanks is quite good, so is Cate Blanchett.
EW- How would you describe "your type" of girl?
PJ- My type? Worthy of being Queen. Intelligent, good sense of humor, honest, caring. It doesn't take much to please me. (laughs)
EW- What's your idea of the perfect date?
PJ- Being with the perfect girl. It needs nothing more.
EW- What about the thousands of girls who hang your posters above their beds, what do you think of them? How do you deal with the adulation?
PJ- Much the same way I do the press. Heavy alcohol consumption. (laughs) I just laugh it off. It is quite flattering.
EW- Some people have called you arrogant, and others overly-modest. Which one do you think you're closest to?
PJ-I am self confident, I won't say that I am not. I believe it really depends on who you are as to how you see me. I doubt my real friends would call me either modest or arrogant. I meet somewhere in the middle.
EW-When do you plan on starting your royal duties?
PJ- When I finish university.
EW-Are you going to take a gap year off?
PJ- No, I will be going to university straight away.
EW- Any particular reason?
PJ- I don't need to devote another year of my life to parties or travel. I know what I want to do, and don't need time to make up my mind. I also enjoy school, and am looking forward to university.
EW- That's really refreshing. If you could get on a time machine and go back to any particular time, where would you go?
PJ- The early 1900s in Germany.
EW- Do you enjoy reading? What's your favorite book?
PJ- I quite enjoy reading. My favorite book is The Chosen by Chaim Potok.
EW- Is there anywhere special you would like to travel to?
PJ- I would love to visit Australia as I haven't been there since I was quite young. My cousin raved about it, and had a great time there.
EW- How are your brothers and father? Do you and your brothers get along well?
PJ- They are good. (pauses) We get along pretty well. As well as can be expected.
EW- Who's your greatest role model?
PJ- (pauses) My father was always a great role model.
