From this town, one can walk across the border to Poipet in Cambodia. I came here by bus from Bangkok, stayed in the center of town for one night, then took a minibus to the border and walked across to Cambodia the next morning. On the night before entering Cambodia, I walked around the town by myself. It is a peaceful town and people are friendly; not many travellers around (I have only seen one European). I then went into a shop and found out that the owner is a Thai-Chinese and he speaks Mandarin, so we started to chat. It was such a warm feeling to be able to speak my own language in a strange land.
