 LOSS OF HABITAT and AMENITY

The site in question has never been truly "Brownfield" as most people would understand the term, having contained very few buildings of a permanent nature.

Since the disappearance of the caravan site and the Mill, over a decade ago, the site has undergone natural regeneration and we are informed by an expert ecologist that it is now "an excellent wildlife area."

We therefore reject the findings of a survey recently submitted to the Council which labelled the site as being of "low ecological value."

Housing development would eliminate much of the wildlife from this area and destroy its natural amenity value. Both have come to be greatly appreciated by local people, though they accept that the site could be tidied up.
