wind up lion toy

He has been in this room for hours. Wishes school was back in so he could come into work later. The lights are incredibly bright, partly because every surface has to be white. He is just leaning against one of the two sides of the room. Staring blankly into the autoclave, waiting for the pressure to release. The buzzing sound of the sterilizer and the ringing of the phones are being pushed away into a low drone. The room is basically a hall, with two open holes in the wall. The only reason his patience seems so limitless and tolerance is so strong is because of drifting. There is always things to think about, always. Suddenly he is pulled out of his trance and spots a small plastic windup toy. Its a lion that walks. At that instant of noticing the autoclave finishes and jumps out. There are still ten minutes to go before the things dry. The toy is staring at him. Must have escaped from the blue toy bin The staring continues. He knows its plastic, but it still might blink. His eyes start to water over with strain and then he closes them. A laugh comes out from the doctor, but its too familiar to concern. The toy stares back still as he wipes the tears from his eyes in a panic. He is worried someone would walk by and mistake his crocodile-esque tears. The autoclave finishes. The boy looks at the toy, and then at the warning on the box that says "over 400 degrees". He feels a mixture of power and sympathy over and for the toy. He then considers cleaning the plastic corpse off the trays, probably'll get in trouble. So he winds up the toy, forcing it to walk against its will and plummet two feet.
