Diamond Den - Memorial Page

Diamond Den's Memorial Page

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I begin this page.

On Tuesday, October 09, 2001 one of our Diamond Den pups left us to go to the Rainbow Bridge.

Diamond Den's Northern Gem Sivo
July 29, 1999 ~ October 09, 2001

"Gem" was the daughter to "Sierra" and "Voodoo",
sister to "Rocky", "Timber", "Cisco", "Jason" and "Zoe".

The 5th puppy born in a litter of six, Gem quickly grew into a beautiful Belgian with a zest for life and enthusiasm that was hard to beat. Gem's exhuberance and energy was contagious and if she wasn't asleep she was in constant motion, and going 100 mph.
(She also figured that anyone else in her general vicinity (human and canine) should follow her lead and pick up the pace!)

Her passing was completely unexpected, very sudden and much, much too soon. The empty place that is left behind will gradually heal with tears and time and we are all dealing with the grief of losing her so soon.

Gem was one of our favorite puppies from our Northern Litter. She was very active and happy, and a joy to have around. We had debated on keeping her for ourselves, and turned down homes which we felt would not be suitable. In October of last year, Gem's "perfect home" became available, and so, on a Friday the 13th we packed her up and shipped her to Ontario to live at Ravenmasque with Sheila, James, and Gem's Daddy Voodoo.
While living at Ravenmasque Gem enjoyed the company of 4 other Belgians, as well as some little Brussells Griffons.

I was quite confident that she would live a long, happy life and would go on to do great things. I had imagined her tearing up the show ring, and looked forward to seeing the next generation of puppies from this wonderful girl. Gem was certainly living up to her name, and had a promising show future ahead of her. Sadly she has left us before she could fulfill those dreams and all we have left now are her memories.

In time....although we hate to think of it, it is certain that more family members (four legged as well as two legged) will pass on and make their own journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Perhaps it will make it a bit easier having the knowledge that Gemmer's has gone on first, and she'll be waiting there for the rest of us, tail wagging, ball in mouth, and that beautiful Belgian smile on her face, anxious to give us the grand tour (in fast forward of course - that was one of her only speeds after all)

To Sheila, James and the rest of the gang at Ravenmasque, you have our deepest condolences and we share with you in your loss. You also have our gratitude and sincere thanks for giving Gem such a good home. We know how much it hurts to lose her, and you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We take great comfort in the fact that she was as well loved and taken care of in your home as she had been in our own.

Rest in peace baby girl, you've left us too soon.
We all miss you Gem and love you much. You've touched a lot of people, enchanted almost everyone you've met.....and you will never be forgotten.
