      Abiotic Components

      Biotic Components

      Nutrients

      Energy

      Heat

    3. Energy Flow in an Ecosystem

    1. Chemical Cycling in an Ecosystem

3 parts:

    1. Reservoir => Storehouse for an inorganic element.
    2. Exchange Pool => Where producers get nutrients.
    3. Biotic Community => Chemicals move along food chains to and from the exchange pool.

    1. Nitrogen Cycle
    2. Carbon Cycle

    1. Fungi
    1. Bacteria
  1. Bacterial Genetics
    1. Mutations
    1. Point Mutations
    1. Transition mutations => exchange a purine for a purine or a pyrimidine for a pyrimidine.
    2. Transversion mutations => purine is replaced with a pyrimidine or a pyrimidine with a purine
    1. Substitution mutations
    1. missense => codon change that places a different amino acid at that position
    2. nonsense => codon change that places a stop codon in an internal position and results in an incomplete protein
    1. Additions and Deletions
    1. Transfer of Genetic Material
    1. Conjugation
    1. F Plasmids
    1. Transduction
    1. Lytic cycle
