July / Aug / Sep 2002 Prayer Letter
John Henry
Oct 06, 2002

July / Aug / Sept 2002

Greetings from the Thai / Lao frontier.

Thank you so much for your prayers for our daily Radio Program into the closed field of Laos. People on this side of the boarder tell us that listen all the time. We have heard the program in stores and an open air market. A few people have responded by mail and phone. We had a brief period of equipment problems, but got another tape deck and now we are producing topnotch tapes for the program again.

Psalm and Song continue to be a blessing to the ministry. They take turns helping their Mom in teaching the kidos on Sundays and with the Bible correspondence school, and help out with typing and other things. Please keep their health and home schooling on your prayer list.

Brother Sombaht went off to a near by province to try to start a new work in late July. This has hurt our attendance somewhat as he use to pick people up in the villages and bring them to church in the pick-up truck our mission purchased for him. However, we purchased a Sam Law Cluang (Three Wheel Motorcycle) in September. It can carry up to 8 people safely, 6 easily. Brother Soontorn is a experienced Sam Law driver. So now we can take the meetings to the villagers. We go out on Saturdays had hold special meetings in villages.

On 28 September we went to two villages on visitation and held out door meetings. The first was a planned meeting. In it we had 3 lost ladies, 4 saved ladies, 15 kids and teens, and Soontorn and myself. Two children received the Lord. The other meeting was impromptu. The Bible says, "... be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you ..." (1 Pet 3:15) Our brand new Sam Law broke down on the first trip out giving us the opportunity to preach the Gospel while we had it fixed. We were in an open air soup shop and a man ask me about the Lord which opened the door. Brother Soontorn and I took turns preaching to 8 lost people.

Report for the Third Quarter of 2002: Professions Of Faith: We had a total of 11 souls profess salvation through Christ (4 in services and 7 by way of correspondence courses). Sunday Attendance: Our average attendance for all three locations (Nong Kai, Udon, Phon Phisai) was: July: 37; August: 25; September: 30. Bible Correspondence School: July: 19 students send in 57 lessons. August: 24 students sent in 80 lessons. September: 31 students sent in 48 lessons.

Pray for Thai and Laotian souls! Pray for the camp meeting coming up in October. Pray for our health, for Psalm and Song's home schooling. Pray for the Radio Ministry!

Yours for Christ and Thailand,

John Henry
