The montana bite By Brian V Williams
I have limited experience, but I can tell you that fishing on the Clark Fork
between Missoula and East Missoula is slow, I've been catching less than
fish per hour. (I've fished probably 4 hours and caught 1 fish.) Kootenai
Creek (flows into the Bitterroot) is hot, but the cutts are small. The
Bitterroot river is mediocre, I fished for an hour and had one fish on, but
it bit off the fly. I've been using hoppers and caddis flies and mahogany
dun(may fly) imitations. The hoppers were popular with the small cutts on
the kootenai and the bitterroot fish, but then I lost my only one. I caught
the one fish on the Clark fork with a may fly imitation (mahogany dun).
I would love to come to the "staff" of your site. This week I'll bee doing
a little more Clark fork fishing, and maybe I'll get over to Rock Creek this
This is the editors note. I will be going to MOntana sometime in late winter or early spring to fish with the writer from this page email me what you want me to bring back in information............
