Donkin

There’s a little place called Donkin,

Just outside of old Glace Bay

Although I’m not a native son,

I like its friendly way.

I have been there many summers past

Down with the sun and sea

That I have come to think of it as

A second home to me

The people are so friendly there

In a good old fashioned way

It wouldn’t take but two and two

For me to come and stay

The Cabot Trail is really nice

And Smokey Mountain too

What with the Margaree Valley

There is so much to view

But when vacation rolls around

And it is not long away

You can bet your bottom dollar

I’ll be heading Donkin way
