Biography: Formed by guitarist Craig Scott and ex-bassist Biscuit in mid 1999, QUIK - starting out as 'QUIKBLOW' - finally got going with the recruitment of drummer Ben Timpson in May of 2000. This band had under 10 practices together before their debut gig in October of 2000. After realising that certain members weren't as serious about the music as themselves, and a few difficulties concerning musical direction, Biscuit was ejected from the band in February 2001, but the remaining members already had a replacement lined up. After a name-change and only a few practices, QUIK were ready to hit the scene again with their new bassist/vocalist, Blair Paton, who at the time was only 17 years of age. "Blair left us in no doubt about our musical direction; the perfect solution! A godsend!" remarks Ben. Musically, QUIK can be accurately described as 'hard-edged melodic skate punk' - aiming "to combine the speed and heaviness of Pennywise and Strung Out with the melody of Blink 182 and The Offspring" notes Craig. QUIK's lyrics are mostly concerning social relationships and tales of broken hearts. This is mainly because the band isn’t actively concerned with the politics and world issues that inspire their heavier influences.

What they want to do: To take our band as far as possible and refuse to be 'shackled' to Aberdeen - aiming to play outside our 'home city' as often and as frequently as possible, though not taking ourselves too seriously... just check out one of our live shows...
