Alex D.Macdonald was a merchant in Mulgrave during the latter part of the 1800's.He passed away in 1887.His business was sold ,i believe to Mr.Pierce Clancy sr.The store was located up beside where the Irving garage was located. Mr.Macdonald was originally from the West Lakevale area of Antigonish co.
