Day 8 (11 Jan 99) Odometer 113364 kms. Heading west again (big surprise). Stopped in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan for gas (280 kms). Left Lloydminster, Alberta (border town) and turned south at Vermillion, Alberta and headed for Camp Wainwright. Arrived at Warrant Officer Lovett's place (Kevin) 123 kms later at about 1130 hrs (MST). The car is really tired and it needs a rest. Had a great time at Kevin and Judy's place for a couple of days, went to Kevin's hockey game at zero dark buffalo in the morning the next day and Alex's hockey practice that night, bought a pound of the best beef jerky in the world and ate all of it. This is a practice that causes great thirst. (Oh Well!). It snowed like crazy on the 12th and 13th of Jan, couldn't get on the road until 14 Jan 99. (Spend day 9 & 10 in Wainwright). |
