ok, so ive just started this page, and there isnt much news to report about the scene right now cause
im kinda busy as it is. when i get some time, ill give you a rundown of the action to date.
4/10/02
well, the seasons off to a good start. seems like everyones got somethin goin on with thier car, and the races should be tight. theres a new addition to the site as well, we've added a message board to the list of stuff. hopefully it wont end up bein used as a bullshit forum as is the case on many of the local boards around here. anyways, keep yer foot to the floor and good luck in the new season.
11/4/01
wow, its been awhile since the site was last updated. not much to report, the seasons all but over, and the fuzz
has been hard at it ever since the begining of the summer. i suspect this will be the last update for the season,
but there will be many more in the coming summer. now that winter is approaching, the buildup period shall begin.
hopefully everyone will be ready for the new street racing season in 2002, and hopefully there will be many more organized trips
to the new dragstrip in greenfield in the upcoming race season, not to mention the many G-Tech runs that will
deffinetly be going on next year with everyones new mods being put to the test. thanx to everyone at the 7, the team DR
Crew, and all others that have been a part of the scene this year, and to those who couldnt make it out this time
'round, we'll be waiting at the lights for you next summer. as James Taylor said in Two Lane Blacktop,
"you can never go fast enough...."
8/13/01
well, its still pretty dead around DR, but the 7 is still alive an kickin. also QCR seems to be doing a booming business
and is a blast. they've added yet another date this season, so i hope to see everyone at Queens County for September
the 8th and 9th. keep burnin those tires an dont let the man getcha down.
8/3/01
well, DR is pretty much dead now cause the cops are out there every damn night. but there should be some action at the 7
these days, and as soon as the rest of us over on this side of the harbour get some time, well probably head over there too.
other than that, last night an S-10 got busted doin burnouts at the park. it was a dark colored malibu that nailed him,
so watch out.
7/20/01
holy shit! there is wayyy too much heat at DR these days. i think were gonna be layin low for awhile
an maybe making a few trips across the bridge instead of gettin nailed every night....its gettin to
be a hassle. hope everybody remembers that there was another date added to the QCR race schedule, which
is this weekend, so make sure you get down there.
7/9/01
ok, this weekend was pretty fun. all weekend there was some fun at DR. a bunch of dartmouth boyz
came out an made some nice runs. some older cars out this weekend, and on sunday it was mostly import drags with some nice
turbo supras. also most of the runs were on the G-Tech, but there were a few actual races.
7/4/01
so, as im sure youve all heard, there was an accident out at DR last week. some drunk slammed his piece of shit
into the rocks across from the stop sign. just so you know, it wasnt one of us. just some drunk. in fact, if it werent
for a few of the regulars that were still out there hanging out, this guy might have died. but as you can guess
rumors are probably flying around the area that it was our fault. after that its been pretty dead, and full of cops.
6/23/01
with last nights opening of "the fast and the furious", the 103 was jumpin.a GTI had a small underhood
fire, but quick thinking bystanders soon had it out.the last timei saw that many ricers in one spot, was
at Look Ho-Ho during chinese new year. dont forget about the drags today in greenfield. keep 'em between the ditches.
6/18/01
hey, check out the links page cause i put up two more that should be pretty useful. the motor vehicle act,
and "how to beat a speeding ticket" hope they help.
6/15/01
well well well....another week, another bust. this time the usual 103 bunch went out and got nailed.
the cops went as far as to block off the road and have one car towed. although i have to say they were nice about it.
rumor has it that the man got a call from someone saying that there would be racing later that night.....
could be true, could be bullshit, either way, we got busted and we need to start looking for a new spot to
race. if you have any ideas about a good spot that no-one knows about or for that matter, cares about,
then gimmie a shout thru the e-mail an ill try an spread the word......quietly...
dont forget the races in greenfield this next weekend, and keep 'er between the ditches.
5/27/01
well, friday night there was going to be some cool bike racing, but just before they went off, a
sharp-eyed spectator noticed a car parked at the top end of the strip. upon further inspection, it was a cop.
so, the fun for the night was postponed, and it may have been due to someone in a grand am
that mysteriously left after one race......
5/22/01
well, not much to report as of late, cause the cops cracked down on us at the park pretty hard.
also every where you go theres nothing but rice. you've got to hand it to them, they may be slow,
but thier proud of it!! way too many 16 second times written on the back window like badges of honor.
although there were some quick ones i noted, and it could be complete bullshit, threre is
a corrado i spoted cruzin barrington street that had an 11 second time on the window...
5/14/01
ok, just a quick heads up for those of you who missed the fun last night. someone in a firebird got all
crazy inside the gates of the park and when they got caught they just went off even worse! well that
pissed off ranger rick and the park narcs, so the park is bassically under lockdown now. for their efforts, eveyone received
spot checks, even if they werent there when all hell broke loose. ah-well, time for us to find a new and better place,
so if you have any ideas or suggestions on where to head next, drop me a line! see ya in the streets!
5/6/01
well, anyone thats literate and into racing probably already knows this 'cause it was in the paper yesterday,
but i figure ill post it anyways. june 23rd will be the christening of a new drag strip here in the
maritimes. queens county raceway is located on an under-used landing strip at the greenfield municipal
airport.(read:"someones huge back yard") it looks like the end of june is going to be fun, and there
will be more races in the middle of august. just a warning to those of you, who, like me, are planning
on making the 90 minute trip into the middle of no-where, the road gets bumpy as hell about 10 minutes from the track, so
take it easy on the loud pedal. hope to see every one there showing thier support for the sport! happy cruisin.
5/2/01
ok, its been awhile since i updated this, so i actually have a few things to report. first off, were going to be
changing adresses as soon as i get the new site up and running. i might still use this page as a local photo
spot or something. second, the new season was off to a great start, every one went nutz at the park, an now we have to pay.
in the last two weeks there have been some interesting happenings. last week one of the crotch
rockets got laid down, due to an oil slick. this was there because some guy in a blue monte carlo pretty much killed his bottom
end and needed some oil to get the tires goin. bad idea. the bikes ok, as is the rider, both sustained a few bruises,
but nothing serious. also, someone in a celebrity went totally insane for a bit, doin reverse drops
and neutral drops for about 5 minutes.... at 30 or 40 clicks! also, the guys in the blue monte got stupid in front of
a couple park narcs in a burgandy lumina (watch out for this thing) and they let him go......the first time.
but he just had to try it again. guess they blew thier cover huh? also, a few nights ago there was a
huge bust and they got alot of the rice rocket kids. every one who was doin anything got nailed.
apperently ranger rick was in the woods with a radio. all in all, its been a very interesting start to
the new season.
2/3/01
well, as you can see, the season is wayy, waayy over, and i havent had much time to work on the site. but i did add a new web ring link, and as soon as the new season starts, im going to try to make weekly or by-weekly updates, action or not. hopefully the season will start off early, cause winter is sucking. hope to see ya on the streets!
7/17/00
ok, its been a while since my last update on some of the racing action, but im gonna try and make up for it.
lets see, last week the cutless raced another one. this time it was a '72 nova with what is claimed to be a
mostly stock 350. the trick is, hes got a little blue bottle in the trunk that helps add some punch to it when he kicks it.
then, this week, the mustang that beat the cutless was supposed to race the nova, but both were no-shows.
oh yeah, and the week before there wasnt much action because we were all down at the park watching car videos an home
movies. oh yeah, i also heard that the old black monte carlo pounded the shit out of some wimpy little rice rocket later last night.
maybe thatll teach em.the sport bikes put on a nice show for us down at the park this past friday as well.
thats all for now, but there will be more.
6/16/00
well, tonite was interesting. no real racing done, but the park was full of cops and other law inforcement types.
more sad news, the firebird got cited for excessive noise, but on the good side, nothing major, and was fined the standard $78.50
also some annonomous party laid some out on the way out and was promptly chased down by narcs, in, get this, a burgandy lumina, no markings, or lights.
seriously bad shit, but at least we know what to keep an eye out for now. id say were gonna hafta lay a bit low for the next little while, cause there really
starting to clamp down on us. guess we started havin fun again too soon. ah-well.
5/26/00
well, tonite there was some action at the park. some of the regulars showed up an went out to the 103
to timberlea and did some racing. sad news is, everybody got busted. apparently there were 4 cop cars
and they got everybodys information (registration, names, etc.) but no-one was charged with anything. apperently
it was due to the early start to the evenings action which resulted in some upset motorists passing by
and calling the authorities. that was the end of the fun for this night, and for the next little while, but i was informed that the
mustang beat the cutless right off the line due to severe wheel spin. no real race there.
