Welcome to Rex's page. He came to us the 24th and left us the 31st of May. Rumble Studed out a dog, and the dog had 9 puppies! Thats a HUGE litter for a bulldog. The Breeder called us up one day saying that he had this little white puppy that had something wrong with him, and he had taken him to his vet and the vet said that there was nothing wrong with him! Rex couldn't walk or poop and pee! We still don't know what that vet was looking at... Rex needed 24 hour care, and the breeder had 8 other puppies to care for plus work, so we took him knowing that he didn't have long... He was such a sweetie! but you could tell he was confused, he couldn't romp or keep up with the other dogs, and it was getting to him. He couldn't controll his bladder, or bowels. and was not eatting good. We took him to our vet...
This is the note that our vet gave us...

Rex had spinal dysplasia involving L7 and the sacral spinal vertibra, all of which are fused. He had proproceptive deficit in both hind legs allong with weak withdral reflex in both hind legs. Thorasic limbs and cranial nerves were normal. There was lack of pain sensation on lateral aspect of the hind legs.

Rex had paresis of the hind legs. Prognosis was poor for Recover. This condition is called cauda-eqiuna Syndrome. (The last few vertibra have fused and failed to form normally resulting in nerve disfunction to the hind legs and urine and bowel incontinance.)

Rex Was put down Monday, the 31st of May. He is in a better place now where he can run like the wind.

We will miss him alot...
