THE LILLINGTONS
"DEATH BY TELEVISION"
released 1999, panic button/lookout!
From HITLIST vol.1 issue 3 (june/july 99)
"WOW!. Okay, so nothing here is exactly new. The MASS-ive (get it? Mass Giorgini? Ha Ha!) production is reminiscent of SCREECHING WEASEL's "Bark Like A Dog", and the songs are definitely in that SW/QUEERS vein, with the lyrical content mostly inspired by a lifetime of watching bad reruns and reading comic books. But despite it all, the LILLINGTONS somehow find a new way to rock this shit. And rock it does. Highly recomended." -Dave Johnson

"It's hard to imagine that 3 guys from wyoming could have captured the imagination of the underground punk scene, but these three guys from wyoming have done just that. Not since The Riverdales came along with their brand of buddy holly meets the circa 1976 ramones has the attention spans of popunk! fans been turned to an era long since passed, and in the process allowed a revitalisation of what Punk Rock is really about, three loud poppy chords with a barage of angry lyrics. The Lillingtons do just that with their second full length release, and refuse to let up. Keeping with the trend of their previous releases, Death By Television offers a predominant sci-fi theme, ranging from comic book heroes to extraterrestrial invasion. Keep the laser gun handy, you're gonna need it. High top chucks, leather jackets, three chords and a lot of fucking volume. Easily the best release of '99" -Y2KJ
