My name is David Kunz and I am a graduating mining engineering student at DalTech, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I will be graduating with my degree from TUNS in May of 1999. This web page has been created primarily for the use of potential employers to learn more about me as a candidate for employment in their corporation. In addition, this page will serve as a means to keep my classmates and friends up to date on what I am up to following my relocation after graduation.

My Online Resume |
This is the online version of my current resume. For now, this page consists only of my resume with a few additions such as links to previous employers' Web sites, links to my educational background, home city and so on. Following completion of my final set of exams in April 1999, I intend to expand this resume to include my hobbies (in- depth gallery of my photographs, etc.) and other favorite activities (mountain biking, windsurfing, hanggliding, rugby). I know that I have much to offer any corporation and I am focusing primarily on those involved in the petroleum industry. This industry has taken a huge hit this past year and while it appears to be showing some sign of revival these past few weeks I hope that this will translate into employment opportunities very soon. What I am trying to say here is that by incorporating my resume online with my other interests and activities, potential employers may get a better all-around idea of the person I am. Hopefully my Web page will assist your search and help to prove my character and capabilities to you.

A Comprehensive Gallery Of My Photographs |
Although this page has not been completed yet, I intend this to constitute a comprehensive gallery of my photographs. I am an avid photographer with some of my photos published in various publications. Now that I have blown my own horn here, I hope that you will enjoy my photos (when I get the page finished). Currently I am in the process of scanning them and hope to publish them on the Web shortly. For now, the scanner is very dark and has poor resolution, therefore I only have a few photos that are available, but come take a look.

A .JPEG Image Gallery |
As a student who has been responsible for creating and producing many technical reports I have experienced first- hand the frustration of being unable to locate adequate reference images to include in these reports. Therefore, I vow to create an all- inclusive image bank for those who are producing technical reports. These images will be in the .JPEG format with descriptions, references and suitable quality for publication. There will not be any charge for the use of these images, and the reference information should alleviate any infringement on copyright. The source of these images will vary-- from images already existing on the Web, their call number will refer to the original source location, while others will be scanned and referenced by me. I will focus initially on engineering applications for most image types, but will soon branch out as broad as possible without losing the site's managability.

Pop/Soda & Beer Can Planes |
This is a Web Page that I intend to build for my Father who is the creator of the coolest conversation pieces imaginable! He makes "Weathervane Planes" from ordinary aluminum Pop/Soda and beer cans in a unique manner of recycling. The planes are modelled after the old bi-planes of the days gone past, with propellers that spin in the slightest breeze. "Just do these quirky little planes act as weathervanes?" you may ask.... well let me tell you....

My Spaceman Spiff... A.K.A. Calvin and Hobbes Page |
Calvin and Hobbes, the brilliant and lovable characters created by Bill Waterson. His artistry is magic, expressions abound he brings laughter simply by his ability to convey calvin's character in his drawings. One may read this strip solely for the expressions on calvin's face and the humor in his actions. In addition to Bill Waterson's artistic talents, the storylines and offbase humor capture the thought patterns of that one little classmate we all had... and thought was just A LITTLE bit strange. When you read this strip you can imagine yourself in the thoughts and "worlds" of Calvin's mind and feel his anquish of having the whole world seemingly set against him. I find this much easier to relate to... well, because my younger brother was so much like Calvin it is uncanny. I read I laugh. I look I laugh. I just think about Calvin and his ferociously lovable tiger Hobbes... and I laugh. There is simply no other comic strip that so cleverly uses complex humor, classical reference and absolutely hilarious comic strip cartooning. If you have never seen or read Calvin and Hobbes, after this fabulous introduction how can you resist your temptation to find out. On the other hand, if you like C & H, check out my page and tell me what you think.
