Dolores
Pargana has been a resident of Scarborough East for the past 34
years. She worked in Mainframe Systems as an Application Programmer
and Analyst for over 20 years and raised two daughters with the help
of her husband, Joe. Dolores retired in 2003 after being diagnosed
with Breast Cancer for the second time. The cancer was successfully
treated and she has been healthy ever since.
Not having to go
to work every morning, Dolores found herself with too much free time
on her hands and decided to visit the neighbourhood bead store and
take some lessons. So began an exciting addiction to
beading.
Dolores has been a member of the Toronto Bead Society
since 2004. Although Dolores has so far considered her addiction only
a hobby, she has been an accomplished jewellery artist for some time
and has designed unique pieces using both well known and ancient
stitches, like gourd, herringbone, right angle weave, and netting.
Dolores has recently become a member of the One Stop Studio
Tour and will be present in the upcoming 2008 Show. She is also a
member of the Cedar Ridge Studio Gallery and the Scarborough Arts
Club.
