The starship Nautilus was involved in the battle in the Chin'toka system at the close of the Federation's war with the Dominion.

The ship is named for the first submarine to reach the North Pole, as well as Jules Verne's fictional vessel.

The hull base coat is Flat White. Aggressor Gray and Flat Gull Gray are the panel details. The Warp nacelles are detailed with Flat Black, Medium Gray, and Copper. Phaser banks are Sand. RCS Thrusters are Flat Yellow and Flat Black.

This model was a test in custom decal making. The model had been built and painted in 1995 when the Reliant model kit was new. I had stripped off the decals a year ago to refurbish the model. All of the markings on the Nautilus were made in Adobe Illustrator with several official and some custom-modified fonts. The markings you see on this model were printed on matte, clear, self-adhesive label paper.

The red striping around the registry and the lower airlock hatches are drawn in the hull grooves with a red pen.
