I
have recently acquired my first sample libraries in the form of Garritan
Personal Orchestra and EastWestQuantumLeap Symphony Orchestra
(Silver Edition). At this point in time, it is a pretty steep learning
curve, but I am slowly getting the hang of MIDI files, sequencing, mixing,
equalizers and things that I never knew existed. It's going to take a while to
get things exactly to sound the way I want. At the moment I am enjoying
composing and being able to hear what my compositions would sound like, if they
were played by real instruments.
Here are a couple of my own compositions so far. Don't judge them too harshly, they are, after all, the products of my first venture into the world of sample libraries. If you are interested to learn more about the Garritan Personal Orchestra, just click on the banner below.
1. Musikale Skerts (Musical Joke) is one of my first attempts. The gong at the end is not supposed to be there, it's just a temporary ending, because the work is not completely done.

2. Gevoel. A short note book sketch for Violin, Cello and Piano. Mp3 file 1.5 mb
3. Two short pieces from a Suite for Bass Flute, Marimba and solo strings.
