SHIPS FROM HALIFAX TO LUNENBURG
Arriving - JUNE 8th & 17th, 1753.
Approximately 1453 passengers & 158 armed troops on board.

Now it is my opinion that these Sloops would average about 60' x 24' and the Schooners about 65' x 16' and each would be capable of transporting from 40 to 60 persons and the voyage from Halifax to Lunenburg took approximately 12 hours (with a fair wind).  It is also my opinion that these ships were mostly from the Eastern Seaboard and principally Massachusetts and Virginia.

First voyage June 7th, 1753 (14 vessels) and second voyage June 15, 1753 (11 vessels).

First voyage - A total of 642 settlers of which 289 were able to bear arms. They embarked on May 28th but didn't left Halifax Harbour at 8 p.m. Thursday June 7th and the ships arrived at Merligash (Lunenburg) between 7 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on Friday June 8th....

Second voyage - A total of 811 settlers embarked on June 15th but didn't arrive in Lunenburg until June 17th.....and the lots were numbered on June 18th....

Now it also seems that some of these vessels and captains were also involved in the
New England Vessels in the Expedition Against Louisbourg, in 1745
and the Expulsion of the Acadians (*)  in 1755.....
