Even the name is sometimes called Veterans pension, improved pension, enhanced pension, special pension, VA pension, Aide and Attendance, or Aid and Assistance. Also, there is a world of confusion between Aid and Attendance on the one hand and Veterans disability compensation on the other hand (sometimes called "service-related disability," DIC, or Veterans disability income). If you apply for the wrong benefit, months will go by and then you will of course be denied, costing you thousands.
