Lexi's Story was written by the young, talented novelist Terran Fader. She had a burning idea to write out, while incorporating some of her close friends into her story, and she finally had it written all down. Though, quote, "The story is not based on my life," Terran told me, but some events in the story are based on her personal experience, such as the infamous sport, "stairdiving". Terran put a lot of effort and time into the writing this story, and I recommend it to all.
The story is in the point of view of the teenage girl, Lexi, who shares her story with the reader. She is close with her best friends, Chris and Meghan, who help her every step of the way, as much as they can. The problem with Lexi is that her father is an alcoholic, and abusive one at that. Lexi has to make up stories to tell even her closest friends, to avoid them from not liking her anymore, so she thinks.
At a very young age writing became my outlet. Whenever I was angry, depressed, or just upset over anything I sat and wrote. I never really found it easy to talk to people verbally so I tried on paper. But I never let anybody read my writing for the most part because I don’t want them to know about my demented life. Believe me, I have a lot of inspiration, to which you will soon enough find out.
“LEXI?” I turned to face my now yelling friends.
“Huh?” I was completely off in my own world again.
Meghan laughed. “Well, maybe she would make a good writer. She’s off in her own happy world enough. I’d be frightened to hear what she thinks about when she does that. Now if only she wrote some of it down.”
I just smiled.
Chris pointed in the direction of my house. “Anyway Lexi, as we were trying to say, look your dad’s home.”
I just put on a smile and laughed half-heartily. “Oh yeah. Come on, Let’s go to Maw’s.” I said as I dragged them quickly past my house.
