NUCLEAR
MEDICINE PROGRAM:
Los Angeles County Harbor UCLA Medical Center is now accepting applications for enrollment into the Nuclear Medicine Technology Education Program. The Nuclear Medicine Division of the Department of Radiology has designed a one year, certificate based program with emphasis on didactic training in radiation science, pathophysiology, and patient care, as well as extensive clinical experience in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. LAC Harbor UCLA is an internationally recognized academic and patient care facility, offering nuclear medicine students excellent opportunities to participate in development and implementation of new radiopharmaceuticals and procedures.
Students
who successfully complete the program will satisfy the eligibility requirements
for the national certifications exams such as ARRT, NMTCB, and licensure by the
California State Department of Health Services. Harbor UCLA will provide
an educational environment for supervised hands on training of nuclear medicine
procedures and examinations and imaging equipment.
The goal of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program is to: provide students with the educational background and practical training required for job entry; instill within graduates a sense of professionalism, dedication and commitment to health care that will stay within them throughout their carriers; provide guidance in students' everyday decisions; and motivate students to maintain a high level of expertise through active participation in professional organizations and through continuing education activities.
