Tournament Rules


SCHEDULE
All teams are guaranteed at least three games (weather permitting). Bracket size for each age group will determine format for semi-finals and finals where applicable. Single age brackets will be used where possible. The tournament committee will determine brackets.
GAME LENGTH
At age groups will follow the format below duration of the game with a 5-minute halftime.
~ U-8 thru U-10:40 minutes
~ U-11 thru U-12:50 minutes
~ U-13 thru U-14:60 minutes
~ U-15 thru U-16:70 minutes
~ U-17 thru U-19 80 minutes
AWARDS
First and Second place awards will be presented at the conclusion of the final games. All participants will receive a tournament pin and program.

*Travel Papers (if traveling from outside of New Mexico)
HOME AND VISITING TEAMS
Home team is listed first on the schedule. Home team must change jerseys if there is a conflict and will take the east/ north east side of the field.
SCORING
Teams will be awarded points for game results as follows:
WIN: 6 POINTS
TIE: 3 POINTS
LOSS: 0 POINTS
SHUT OUT: 1 POINT (0-0 TIE WILL BE AWARDED 4 points)
GOALS: 1 POINT WITH A MAXIMUM 0F 3
1 POINT DEDUCTED FOR EACH RED CARD
TIE BREAKER
In the event that two or more teams are tied in points at the end of the preliminary games the following tie breakers shall be applied in the order given until a winner is determined.
1. Head to Head (if all teams played each other)
2. Goals against
3. Goals for (max. of 3 per game)
4. Goal differential (max. gaol for max. gaols against)
5. FIFA penalty kicks
SUBSTITUTIONS
Substitutions are unlimited as follows:
1. Prior to throw-in in your favor
2. Prior to all goal kicks (Both Teams)
3. After any goal (Both Teams)
4. After a yellow card (One for One)
5. Injury, one for one
DISCIPLINE
RED CARD: Ejection of current game and next game. Committee reserves the right to impose stricter penalty for fighting, foul language, spitting,Referee Assualt, etc...Any coach red carded risks tournament banishment. Coaches so responsible for their fans, Etc..
THERE IS A LAW IN NEW MEXICO AGAINST REFEREE ASSUALT
ABANDONMENT
The results of any game terminated as consequence of abandonment shall be based on the score at the time. If the referee deems one team responsible, the score will be a 4-0 shutout and the guilty teamm will also have a two (2) point deduction from their total points.
GENERAL RULES
Played under FIFA, USYSA, and NMYSA adjustment for your competition. FIFA "Laws of the Game" and rules of USYSA shall apply. All decisions by the tournament committee are final and the Committee reserves the right to alter the format to enhance fair play and safety. THERE WILL BE NO PROTEST OR APPEALS
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Tournament matches win be played in all weather conditions, unless as the Referee determines the conditions are dangerous and/or lift threatening as per FIFA/USYSA/NMYSA regulations. The Tournament Committee will do everything in their control to make sure all matches are played, however, if it is out of their control, the Tournament standings at that time will be final.
Contingency Plait
Plan A: All matches will be played as scheduled
Plan B: Shorten all first round matches to fifteen (15) minute halves.
Plan C: Plan B plus shorten all semi-final matches.
Plan D: Plan C plus shorten all final matches.
Plan E: In the event the fields become totally unplayable or the weather becomes a hazardous condition, it may be necessary to decide some matches with FIFA penalty kicks.
