Mr. President

Russell Walter

About me…

Well, I’m 16, I have  one sister, two parents, and two great dogs. I have lived in Animas most of my life, and I plan to graduate here.  I like music, movies, and old films.  I am a born again Christian.  I have a very large family, on my mom’s side, they are all fun to be around.  At last count I had 63 or so cousins, and we’re still expanding.  I think I’m well rounded:  playing basketball, and joining many organizations in high school.  In addition to high school, I have stared in many plays, and have attended some very big plays (not Broadway yet, but they were still good.)  I have maintained an A/B average most of my life, and I hope to get a scholarship to go to college.  And that’s all about me.

The following is a questionnaire that the chapter officers were asked to complete.  This is how Russell responded.

Q.  Why did you decide to become a member of FFA?

A.  Because I felt I could contribute to our FFA program, I felt I could help be a leader for both older, and younger classmen.

Q.  What is your favorite part of FFA, & why?

A.  Competition most definitely; I love to compete against other people, and hopefully come out on top.  Then there’s traveling and meeting people.

Q.  What do you think a leader is?  What makes a good leader?

A.  I think a leader is someone in a group who can take charge and leave a good finishing result.  His/Her personality, and their attitude.

Q.  What do you wish to accomplish be being an FFA member?

A.  I hope to follow in my family’s footsteps and become a State FFA Officer, and later try New Mexico State FFA President.

Q.  What are you hobbies?

A.  Showing animals, working on the computer, watching TV, listening to music, arguing with my sister, raising & exhibiting rabbits, drawing, hanging out with friends, & 4-H projects other than animals.

Q.  What does FFA mean to you?

A.  FFA… a leadership organization, a lot of hard work, a lot of fun, and a lot of opportunities in the future.

Q.  What are your future plans?

A.  In the future I plan to graduate from high school, go to college, get married, become a famous lawyer, have kids, make lots of money, retire and have a great life.
