This picture is from 12 years ago in 1989 when I just escaped from the mental institution... I mean prison... I mean HIGH SCHOOL, but it accurately reflects the spirit of Amy, if not the current non-fashion sense, extra poundage, and hairstyle... And no, I am not ripping off cholos/pachucos (maddog shades) so don't even go there! This was 2 years before "grunge" entered the popular consciousness so SHUT UP about the freakin flannel, please.
I am a single LESBIAN who is not a typical lesbian in any sense of the word. I am attracted to men as well as women (although I am more inclined to the women), and do not care what any PC dykes think about it. Don't try to label me, because no labels can truly convey who I really am.
Music? She who enjoys listening to PUNK, BLACK METAL, some Death Metal (HYPOCRISY, MORBID ANGEL, SLAYER, DEICIDE, AT THE GATES, GOD DETHRONED, etc...), Classical, Blues, Doo-Wop, Motown, and many other kinds of music. Right now I am addicted to KITTIE and can't get their CDs out of the CD player.
I am studying Sociology, Gender Theory, English and Literature, Women Studies, and am an as yet unpublished writer. I have 7 tattoos and a pierced tongue (for 6 years!). I am an involuntary member of "Generation X," whatever the hell that is... My sense of humour seems to be a bit "off," but I love to laugh and enjoy eliciting a laugh from others.
Women? I am attracted to a woman's sense of humor, her laugh, her smile, and her eyes. If she is genuine and down to earth, intelligent, and cool (cool as in a cool person, not cool as in trendy or popular), I can be easily smitten or even infatuated. I like women who are fun to be around- with a streak of seriousness. I always get a kick out of a woman who is fiesty- or maybe even hot tempered, like myself. A little rebelliousness thrown in for good measure is a very wonderful thing. I would prefer a lot of rebelliousness, though... (dreamy sigh.) The song "Rebel Girl" by Bikini Kill pretty much sums it up here.
I love to watch male-identified, politically incorrect and lesbian- disapproved sports such as Hockey, Bodybuilding, and Football. I do not play softball, nor do I ride a motorcycle. I do not have any cats. I do not have short hair. I do not go camping or drive any of the following vehicles: a) any brand of Sport-Utility Vehicle; b) a Nissan or Toyota 2WD pick-up w/ camper shell; c) Nissan or Toyota 4X4 pickup; d) any kind of Subaru.
My dream cars are a 1969 Chevelle SS 396, A Dodge Viper, and almost any year Corvette (especially a '63 split window!!) However, I am currently driving a 1993 Black (and rust) Ford T-Bird. I wear briefs, refuse to wear a bra, and am about 6 inches away from growing my hair all the way down to my ass (which isn't that long since I am pretty short!).
I live in Albuquerque, NM where all the "dykes" listen to Melissa Etheridge, Indigo Girls, Country and Western, Celene Dion, and Techno. The ones my age like to tell me I am immature (code word for: they are afraid of me because my existence calls into question everything they believe is "normal." Is it the lack of Birkenstocks? The personal boycott of anything "khaki" colored? Perhaps the black sports car? Is it because I don't call myself a "single white professional 30-something androgynous female with 2 dogs who loves camping, nature, romantic dinners, listening to 'adult contemporary' music, and enjoys watching mainstream corporate-generated barely- entertaining movies which only serve to propagate the mindless herd mentality of modern Americans" ???) So, basically, it is hard to get a date! ha ha.
I am not into S/M or Butch/Femme stuff, so if you are, please go away and kindly flock elsewhere. I have dated men and don't give a damn what anyone thinks about it.
