Site Review - FACADE.COM

I love to play on the internet. Don’t have all that much time – but love to leave the research and the e-mails behind and see what I can find that amuses and amazes.

Facade.com is one of those sites. It is a divinatory site – with all kinds of tools!

Before we talk about that – let’s visit the first page. For your enjoyment, you can personalize the site by choosing a theme (Celtic,Sky or Unicorn), indicating your gender and adding your birth data. (This is cool – you never have to enter this information again when you visit this site. It’s a warm fuzzy.)

Facade.com offers divination through the use of Tarot, the I Ching and Biorhythms. They also offer Runes, Bibliomancy and Stichomancy. Each day a different deck from their cadre of decks (The Cat People Tarot, The Haindl Tarot, The Palladini Tarot, The Renaissance Tarot, The Rider-Waite Tarot, The Sola Busca Tarot and the William Blake Tarot) is featured. You can choose to obtain your reading with the featured deck or any of the other decks.

There is also a decent selection of spreads to choose from: a single card spread, a three card spread, the Celtic Cross and the Cross and Triangle (a Hermetic spread). The graphics are well presented, the interpretations easily understandable and the print out includes the card images and the text.

The Runes pages feature several different Rune Stone sets – each used for a different purpose. The Ice Runes for questions about struggle/conflict, the Gold Runes for business, career and property, the Spirit Runes for mysticism, spirituality and religion, the Jade Runes for love and relationship ,and the Stone Runes for those things beyond human comprehension. As with the Tarot, the answers are easily understood and printable.

The biorhythm readings are presented as primary and secondary biorhythms. The primary biorhythms represent the three cardinal cycles: Physical, Emotional and Intellectual. The secondary biorhythms are mixtures of the primary rhythms: Passion (physical with emotional), Wisdom (Emotional with Intellectual) and Mastery (Intellectual with Physical). As before, the charts are printable.

Bibliomancy is the art of seeking spiritual guidance through passages in the bible. I tried this, never having done it before, and found it interesting.

Stichomancy is the art of seeking metaphysical insight through random passages from any book at random. There is a four plus page list of authors that are being drawn on, to include such writers as Hans Christian Anderson, Ambrose Bierce, William Blake, Arthur Connan Doyle and Emile Zola.

Compatibility is done through the use of biorhythm charts. A fun feature here is the ability to run your birth data with that of a celebrity to see how compatible you would be. There is also a use that is not mentioned for biorhythm charts – keeping charts of loved ones so that you can track their cycles and know how to best handle their moods and present ideas at a time when they will be most receptive.

And please do try the yes/no option. Floaty Industries has come up with a yes/no pen said to be applicable to all manner of questions with an accuracy of approximately fifty per cent. ;-)

The I Ching section casts coins and references the results to the I Ching (Book of Changes). I find this very interesting – it always leaves me with something to think about.

Throughout the pages, along the right hand side of the page, books and decks are offered for sale. There are also specific stores for Tarot, Runes, Biorhythms and the I Ching. Part of the proceeds from these stores are what keeps this site going.

Please take the time to visit this magickal site – you won’t be sorry!
