It was 12 AM that same night when Malia and Megan returned. After going out to see a comedy, and creating their own with a popcorn fight, they had then went out to eat. The restaurant had been crowded and service slow, but they filled up time with their endless chatter. Afterward, Megan had convinced Malia to splurge on ice cream. Chowing down on sundae goop Malia had joked: “You’re going to need a tow truck to take me to the shoot.” However, it had been delicious-and a day of pure fun. Now the two walked in, dancing to the tune of We’ve Got It Goin’ On.
“Ok, ok, you win! Now stop it!” Malia laughed as collapsed on the couch. “The guy had no butt! You win! Stop, stop tickling me!” Megan stood back and just laughed.
“Let’s get some sleep. You and I are gonna pay for this tomorrow.” Megan suggested, being logical.
“Yeah,” agreed Malia, not bothering to stifle a yawn. “What time should I set the alarm for?”
“How about 9AM? That gives us at least seven hours of sleep.”
“Yep. Good idea.” The two quickly washed their faces (“I look like a tomato with out makeup!” Malia remarked of her skin, which was naturally red.), brushed their teeth, and hopped inside their sleeping bags. The phone rang just as Malia flopped onto the couch.
“This had better be good,” she mumbled. “And that means winning the lottery or that the Backstreet Boys are gonna marry me.”
Megan quietly giggled. “Hello?” Malia grabbed the cordless phone and quickly switched it to the speakerphone on the table.
“Malia?” Leighanne’s voice filled the room. Megan cringed.
“Leighanne? It’s past midnight, what happened?”
“Oh I forgot! How insensitive of me, see I'm used to California time. Anyway! We need another girl for the videos, we had lined up this one beautiful redhead but she cancelled last minute. Can you bring Megan? She’s sooooo cute, and when I showed the guys her picture they said she would be fine.”
“Leighanne? I can do it.” Megan broke in, shouting, before Malia could answer.
“Megan? How’s it going, girl?”
“Fine. I can do it, Malia and I can just come down together.”
“Perfect. Malia, I gave you instructions on how to get here right?”
“Uh huh. I think we’re set. You want us their at 7AM Tuesday?”
“That would be like a miracle.”
“Good night Leighanne.”
“’Night Megan and Malia. See ya soon!” Click. Malia walked back over to the couch.
“Well, this is a shock isn’t it Megan? You and I are going to be in a music video! TRL here we come!” Malia referenced the popular MTV show. “I don’t care what my mother says, I'm gonna be a video star, and all the girls will wanna hang with me, just wait and see, when I'm a video star!” Malia changed the lyrics of a popular song from “I don’t care what my teachers say, I'm gonna be a supermodel, and everyone, will wanna dress like me, just wait and see, when I'm a supermodel.”
“Alright, Malia enough. We need to go back to the mall. My turn to enter fashion crisis.” Megan laughed, and threw a pillow at Malia, who was dancing around.
“Ok. But you just got some stuff. I think we’ll be fine, actually. Why don’t we get up, go work out at the rec center, then I’ll drop you off, and we can meet back at the mall. Then we leave together tomorrow morning, unless you want to take separate cars.”
“That sounds absolutely fantastic. We are going to become so sick of each other’s company though.”
“Can’t have too much of a good thing!” Malia clicked off the light. “’Nighty night Megan.”
“’Night Malia.”
The two quickly fell asleep. Meanwhile . . .

“What did they say?” Leighanne turned around to see the curious face of Brian Littrell.
“Megan can do it. Well, now you finally can meet my friends!” Leighanne gave him a quick kiss and walked over to join the rest of the group. Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson seemed to be having a heated debate while Howie Dorough was quietly talking to his longtime girlfriend Amanda James. Leighanne smiled as she saw him pick up a lock of her hair and gently kiss her. I'm so glad he found someone to make him happy, she thought. AJ McLean was shooting hoops in a far off corner. Swish!
“Uh oh. How many pairs of earplugs should I buy?” Brian teased. Wrapping his arm around her waist he called goodbye to the rest of the guys and led her outside.
"We’re all going to be screaming . . . and not at you! We haven’t seen each other, since, gosh I can’t even recall."
“Ok, then how many earplugs for Nick? And should I call in Q?”
Laughing, Leighanne pushed him away. “None! They’re both levelheaded girls . . . not to mention Malia is a genius . . . but she’ll kill me for saying so. Megan is just so funny! I'm honestly excited!”
“Look how quiet the night is,” Brian said softly.
It was true. The star-filled sky held only a quarter moon and there was no one else outside. Leighanne shivered. Pulling her into a hug and cradling her against his chest Brian kissed her forehead. “I love you Leighanne.”
“I love you Brian Littrell. And I will forever. Forever.”
