NEW RULES 2006
USGA New Decision 14-3/0.5
allows a Committee to permit the use of distance-measuring
devices by Local Rule. This applies to devices that measure
distance only, not any other conditions that might affect a
player’s play (e.g., wind or gradient).
On February 1, 2006 the
NNMSMGA Board approved the use of these devices during their
tournaments.
On February 1, 2006 the
NNMSMGA Board stated that the Open Flight for each
tournament would consist of those players with a handicap
index of 9.9 or lower and players who request to be placed
in the Open Flight. All players requesting to be
placed in the Open Flight will have their handicap
calculated using a Handicap Index of 9.9.
