Q: How to fix the L5 error message on the Free Spirit Treadmill?

Recently, for no reason my treadmill would start up and after 9 seconds would flash the L5 error message and then just stop working. I tried turning it off, unplugging it, resetting it - but nothing seemed to work. So I decided to do some googling online for a solution but I couldn’t find it anywhere. A few and I really do mean a few threads only said a couple of lines that dealt with a faulty circuit board. I googled the product # even though it was so hard to find the correct one b/c the company that built it was based in Taiwan somewhere. But, finally I read one thread that suggested it might be a faulty tachometer sensor. Ofcorse this was after I completely disassembled the treadmill and took out the control circuit board - which one thread also suggested that it could be faulty. Anyway, after I read that post I decided to tinker with the sensor. I put everything back in its place and I moved the sensor back a few cm, started it up and it worked like new. I've included the picture below. After I made it work I actually applied some glue using a hot glue gun to the sensor holder so that it cannot freely move ever again. Hope this helped.

Here is a picture of the sensor located by the freewheel which is freely movable, just keep tinkering with it until you find its sweet spot. ;)
