Southern California Radio

Created by MarkTime ZineLand unLtd.

Version 0.41, 10 March 2000

Many of these stations can be recorded by the author, though only some of them at his home or work.  You can request airchecks of anything else on the following list, though you would have to wait for this page's host to visit a place where the station can be recorded.  Watch for this list to grow as the compiler gets more used to the stations out this way, and can travel more to places away from the "Inland Empire" (60+ miles east of Los Angeles).

List is by frequency, with the call-sign, section of market served*, and programming.  A few potential programs of interest are included in this list, though a much better such selection can be found over by here and here.

[ * - codes to denote portion(s) of the area covered, for instance... ]

Los Angeles, and surrounding areas
M - most or all of the Los Angeles metro area...good signal in the following zones:

HD - High Desert...Lancaster/Palmdale/Mojave or Hesperia/Victorville/Adelanto
IE - Inland Empire...Ontario/Pomona, Riverside, San Bernardino
LA - Los Angeles Basin only, inc. Long Beach, Santa Monica, Catalina, and/or Pasadena/San Gabriel Valley
OR - Orange County...Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, San Clemente
SF - San Fernando Valley, plus Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks
SJ - San Jacinto/Hemet, and Lake Elsinore/Temecula (southwestern Riverside county valleys)

Other Southern California Zones
(to be completed soon, as time and research permit)
IV - Imperial Valley...Mexicali, El Centro and such
PS - Palm Springs, Indio, etc
SD - San Diego/Tijuana
SV - Santa Barbara and Ventura areas

Check back often, as this page is being updated constantly.  For instance, the MarkTime research dep't just returned from an overnight trek to the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area), with much information already added and more to follow as the tapes are deciphered.  By the way, many of the airchecks will soon appear on the "Fresh Caught Tapes" aircheck page.

Other notes..."#" means the current programming type is still known known with certainty.  This includes where all is known is that they broadcast in a language other than English, but there are no (so-called) "format" details.  Your help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks to J.R.Sally and Derek Lloyd for much of that kind of information included in this list!  Satellite programming source in italics, when known.  "$" is (or will eventually be) included for the AM stations known to be broadcasting in stereo.
