| Your face, perfect
like the sky Cold though the sun shines on it I don't know what's there beyond A goddess, or just a child? |
A face in the darkness,
reflected in the mirror. Hand holds up candle next to unblinking face at
cheek. Camera on mirror. Dark night sky, a few stars. Make sure that the planet Venus is seen. Candle flame becomes star in night sky. |
| I'm not even asking
for one smile but only one tear from you. Just cry your first tear for me And I'll melt into warm rain |
Globe appears in middle of night
sky. those transparent can turn upside down sort. Inside globe is lit candle. Wax drips down. |
| [instrumental break] | More camera work on globe and
candle. |
| (chorus) Someone's shattered the perfect sky Now I'm tasting the salty rain Before you vanish in the mist let's run in the rain once again. |
Globe shatters. Fragments fly out artistically. Water starts to fall onto the candle. 'tis golden water, like potassium iodide crystals. Candle flame weakens, but still keeping burning. |
| [instrumental break] | Footprints made in golden rain.
You can see splashes, but no foot. (I don't see how we're ever going to
shoot this.) |
| (melody now is different from any
previous verse) | |
| The rain's crashing
down into us Pounding rhythms onto my heart Is that moistness on your face a tear? or just the rain's cruel trick |
Nothing but a downpour of golden
rain. Camera zooms in on ground. Nice closeup on one drop splashing on the ground. |
| [instrumental break, but shorter this time] | Camera closes up on fragments of
globe. Still perfect, edges are straight, smooth, not jagged. Rain on
fragments. Golden clouds reflected on fragments. |
| Someone's shattered
the perfect sky The rain has become a sea All I ask is just one tear A crystal glides down your cheek. | Fragments break up into even
smaller fragments, around the candle. Water level rises rapidly up candle. On "tear", water smothers the candle flame Back to face in mirror. In the light of the candle, a tear glides down the cheek. |
