The Hyrule Loach is not fictional. It is real and very hard to catch (not worth it, trust me). Once you do (like after 5 minutes) and you bring it up to the Fisherman he says it's thirty-five pounds!!! You don't get much of a reward, 50 ruppees, and he throws it back. Even though, you can boast to everyone and yell"I CAUGHT THE HYRULE LOACH!", and then they look at you strangly. But back to the fish. The man tells you how much it weighs and how rare it is and then it is over. The fish only bites when it flaps to the top of the water. It is HARD to reel it in. That is all about the "Hyrule Loach". If you beat the game and are bored, I reccomend trying to catch it. Even if your not great at the game, it's fun trying to catch it anyway. That's a Wrap on the fish.
