The Best of the Best Restaurants in Albuquerque:

Hungry?

Taking a pit stop to refuel so you can finish touring Albuquerque? Then here are some of the best restaurants in the 505.

In Albuquerque, you have a wide variety of food that ranges from chinese food to our specialty, mexican food. So here are some of the top restaurants listed in their categories.

MEXICAN

1. Garduno's - Probably this is the number one mexican retaurant in Albuquerque. Garduno's has been a local restaurant that has been expanding across New Mexico quickly. The reason for its popularity is that they use good products and they tie in great dishes. They also try to give you the scenery of a local eatery in Mexico. So that's what makes Garduno's one of the best mexican restaurants in Albuquerque.

2. Perea's - This restaurant is family owned, and if you finish your plate, you are one good eater. Perea's is one of my favorites because they really give you the value for your money. When I say "Value for your money." I don't mean being cheap on the ingredients either. The food is great and the portions that they give you can't be beat.

ITALIAN

1. Scarpas - This is the place to go for Italian food. They have a variety of tasty items ranging from your classic pizza (which are really good) to their many varieties of pasta. This restaurant is also locally owned and has been expanding. The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind, and the service is good.

2. A Taste of Italy - Is a good restaurant if you need a party catered, in fact, that's what they specialize in. They have your normal Italian food and their meatballs are delicious. Their dine in area is nice and quaintly. A good restaurant for good food.

SEAFOOD

1. Seagull Street - This is the restaurant for the people that like great food in a good atmosphere. This place really gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. But if you go before 5 P.M., you can get the special earlybird discount. If you are a parent and want to leave the kids at grandma's and grandpa's to go out for a night on the town I suggest Seagull Street.

2. Raging Shrimp - This restaurant is new to the 505, but is pretty good. I don't know where Raging Shrimp originates but they carry a good name for quality. This is your traditional family restaurant so you can bring the kids.

CHINESE

1. Pacific Pearl - This is my favorite chinese restaurant because they specialize in a big buffet. They assume that when you sit down that you are there for the buffet, and that's what most people are there for. The atmosphere makes it feel like you're in China. It is a good restaurant if you are very hungry.

2. Yen Ching - This restauant has had a lot of write-ups on their food and I can see why. The food is alway good (and I have been there about a dozen times). I don't know how they do it but it is great. The atmosphere is ok, nothing outstanding. If you want quality food, go to Yen Ching.
