In 1744 the Church of Archangel Michail was built the place of an old wooden church. It worked till the beginning of the XIXth century. In 1804 next to it the building of a new stone church began under the project of architect Masalov.

The works were made for the money of the parish and builging was finished in 1811. During 1865-1867 the church was re-built much and in 1872 local master Bezsalov from Borisovka made an original clock on the bell tower. In 1894 to the big bell of the weight of 1696 kilograms the bigger one was added the weight of that was 4896 kilograms.

In 1911 the wooden altar was replaced by the marble one. The iconostasis of this church is unique for the whole Belgorod and Stary Oskol Eparchy. It was made by masters of the Sommawil's factory in Kharkov. The iconostasis is made of marble of two colours: white with light blue veins and brown-red. In its architecture the elements and forms of the Russian-Byzantinian style were used.
The iconostasis is decorated with beautiful lace of carving.

Till 1842 in a big village (not far from the town of Khotmyzhsk) of the right bank of the river Vorskla the Znamensky Khotmyzhsky monastery was located. This monastery existed from the XVIIth century.
In 1842 the monastery was abolished. The Znamensky Church was built in 1772 inside the monastery.

The wooden Church of St.Vasily the Sanctifier was built in 1855. In the beginning of the XXth century this church had the parish of 1192 people.
In 1987 the wooden church was burnt down. In 1989 the stone church was built on the place of the old one. The church was sanctified in December of 1989.

The Church Of Three Sanctifiers in the village of Striguny was built in 1780-1803. It was dedicated to St.Vasily the Great, Gregory the Divine and John Chrysostom.
In 1930 the northern and southern parts of the church were destroyed. But a two-story wooden carved iconostasis remained.

The fist wooden church of Rising of the Dead of Christ was built at the same time with the building the fortress Khotmyzhsk in 1640.
The wooden church was built in 1834 under the project of architect Melnikov. It was sanctified in 1839. Before the revolution of 1917 in this church the gilded silver cross was kept. This cross was presented to the church byTsar Alexey Michailovich in honour of the victory at Khotmyzhsk. After the revolution the cross was lost.
In 1930s the church was closed and the building was used as a storehouse. The church was restored in 1995.
On September,28,1996 Patriarch of Moscow and Whole Russia Alexy II visited this church and santified the bell of unity of slavonic nations in the church bell-tower.
