Straight & Reverse Baconian Cyphers

One of the best web-sites on matters relating to Fra. Bacon is Lawrence Gerald's

Fra. Bacon by his editorship of the 1611 King James Bible changed the spelling of Melchisedech to Melchizedek.

The effect of this when viewed through his Straight & Reverse ciphers
(based on the then 24-character Elizabethan alphabet) is to:-

1. Endow the same cipher-count on both Melchizedek and Solomon and

2. Have Solomon shown as a sort of allegorical progeny of Melchizedek.
