Angela Tyson

1969 - 1989

We'll keep you close, as always,

When in ZTA you belong.

You're in our hearts, in big and small ways,

And we'll keep the love that keeps us strong.

And friends are friends forever,

When our sisterhood's the bond,

And a friend will not say never,

So our sisterhood goes on.

We don't want to let you go,

'Cause as sisters we all know,

That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.

Angela Marie Tyson was born on February 17, 1969 to Gerald and Minnie Tyson. Angela grew up in Borger, Texas and graduated from the Borger High School in May of 1987. Angela received a scholarship to Eastern New Mexico University and started college there in August of 1987, where she majored in Music.

Angela was a loving, caring young lady with the voice of an angel. She participated in many activities at Eastern, including Zeta Tau Alpha, Panhellenic, Chamber Choir, Swing Choir, and many other music and drama events. She was also an active member of the University Baptist Church, was on the Dean's Honor Roll and was listed in the book of Outstanding College Students of America.

Angela was very active in the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Her big sister was Laura Sharick. Her two little sisters were Darla Perry and Kara Wilson. Angela was a bright, intelligent girl who was taken away from us in June of 1989. We will always remember her smile and how she inspired us all to see the good in everyone. She touched our lives in a way we will never forget.
