CONCERT REVIEWS

Here is Heather's concert review:

YES! I got tickets! It was the best f**king show I will *ever* see and, so sorry, but this includes BUSH {unless they all play topless and bring Winston...} I went w/ my friend, Tasha and we met Kalin there. We stood in -20 for two hours, but it was SO worth it. Ginger played for about 45 minutes, and everyone was like, come on, get on with it, WE WANT MOIST! Finally, they came out. It was completely dark, the only thing you could see were Kevin and Paul's ciagarettes. Then the spotlight focused on Kevin, and he started playing Disco Days. I went nuts, cos that's my FAVE song. The rest of the stage was dark, but we could hear David singing. Then he walked out into the light, and they broke into Tangerine (my other FAVE song...hee hee, they're *all* my fave songs!) David is such a performer!!! It was so cool. He was walking (!) across the crowd, body surfing while singing (ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I held his foot!!!!) He slapped Mark, tackled Jeff (and broke a string, his first!), and told Paul "Paul, all i want to say is, F**k You" and he said it so nicely! He really picked on Kevin though. He tried to push the keyboard off stage. The stage manager, Stan, *dove* for the keyboard and mike before the fell off; kev's still trying to play even though his stand just fell off the stage and David's still trying to push him off. Then, later, david started pulling the keyboard away while Kev was still playing, so kev was walking around the stage, trying to play. Then David stopped, and turned Kevin's head to us, making him look. Smile! There, that's better! david threw water on us, and poured some all over Jeff. There were only about 650 people there, so it was really nice. You now how he takes Polaroids and then chucks 'em into the audience? I know the chick that caught it! He's so normal when he was talking, but as soon as the music started, he went nuts!!! We (tasha, Kalin ans I) saw the after show party through the windows at Grant Hall (i'm a stalker...) We saw Kevin, but couldn't find anyone else (David? Where'd you go?) There, that's all i remember. if you remember anything from your concert, i'd *love* to hear it. I am obsessed w/ them now! Okay, that's it. Hope you read the whole thing...

Heather (Bush/MoistGirl)

PS Oh yeah...during his body surf, David's shirt got ripped open; he left it open all night! He has an amazing body, and we got to see the Shark bite!

okay, i'll be repeating myself, but this is my official summary: I sang along w/ every song, and Dave and Kevin (we were on that side of the stage) kept on looking down and smiling at me, cos i was the only one singing, and i'm pretty tall, and was standing in the pit w/ a lot of short people around me. Disco Days: sitting on the drum riser, singing in the dark. Tangerine: dave starts his act Resurrection: yeah!!!! *OVER!!!!!* (had to be therem i guess) Dave was jumping/dancing all over the stage Stepped onto the barrier, holds everyones hands, walks a few steps, falls, body surfs back to the stage. The band keeps on playing. They're used to it. David crawls onstage "thanks for returning me safely". His shirt got ripped open, and he left it open all night (Shark Bite!!!) we were in second row the whole time....the pit was good.....fun.... Tackles Jeff, they both go down Pushed Kevins keyboard off the stand, kevin tries to keep playing while dave tries to push him off stage. "I want to thank Paul back there. Paul, F**k you." *smile* Takes Polaroids "now we have to wait 60 seconds......60 seconds can be a very long time together!" Slaps Mark Throws water on *my* section....i was the queen of the pit! got everyone going! Passes the water bottle around. "I used to do this all the time but no one would ever share! so you guys are going to make me happy and share, right?" he passed it into the audience, and immediatly, it was spilled all over whoever tried to catch it. Dave gives us an exasperated sigh and shrugh...."hey, at least i tried!" Observation: Dave Jumps. A Lot. pours his water all over jeff Because the Whig Standard printed the wrong date, and queens doesn't do much to advertise, there were only about 650 people there, and dave was happy..."This way, it'll be much more intimate!" *smile*! I bought a t-shirt (the one w MOIST on the front, and all the languages on the back) and the CREATURE poster.....that had to be the best night of my life.....i'll never forget it. The set list, in no particular order: Tangerine Disco Days Gasoline Leave It Alone Resurrection Shotgun Push Silver Machine Punch Through ***i love this song*** Break Her Down Believe Me Theme From Cola Ophelia (yeah!) Better Than You Into Everything The BillieJean/Sandman cover.... and one more i didn't recognise...maybe *miss you* but i'm not sure i may have left one or two out.... hope you liked my review!

Here is Lindsay's Moist experience:

I went to see Moist yesterday (June 27th) at Major's Hill Park in Ottawa. We were shopping in the Rideau Center before the concert, and who do we see??? Paul! So we go over and he was looking for Sports Experts, so we showed him the way, since that was exactly where we were headed. We talked with him about the show and he was wondering if we had seen David and his wife. We hadn't. My friend was looking around in Sports Experts and we were over near the sunglasses and he comes back over and makes some joke about what we were talking about. He started to look at sunglasses, so we helped him pick out a pair, and he bought them. So he paid for his items, and we were walking out with him, and he grabbed a soccer ball, and decided he'd buy one too. So we helped him pick out the best one and he bought. Then he needed directions back to Major's Hill Park for soundcheck. So we walked with him until he knew where he was going. We asked him if it would be possible to get backstage at the concert, and he said it would. So we got to the show and got out passes at the gate. The show was amazing. David crowd surfed twice. They sounded really good, as usual. After the show we go backstage and grab a drink, waiting for the guys to appear. They did so we just talked to each of them, got autographs and pictures. Then we found Paul and talked with him for a long time. He made so many jokes...he's hilarious! We met David's wife, and they look really cute together. She was quiet but seemed really nice. We kept talking, mostly with Paul and Kevin. We were helping them plot to steal the golf cart, but there were no keys. Kevin attempted to hot wire it, but was unsuccessful. Then he sat in it and it started to roll down the hill, and he couldn't get it to stop. So 10 people jumped in and stopped it. We ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours, and were the last to leave. Paul taught us many lessons, as he is a very wise man. He told us a lot about his teenage years. Kevin was using the outhouse, and Paul couldn't resist...he pushed it, almost tipping it over, but didn't. They have to be some of the coolest and friendliest band members I've ever met, and I have met LOTS! They are truly great guys, and very normal and down to earth.

Here is Amy's concert review:

I went to one in July, and had Lawn seats, and on Sept 11, I went to one in Guelph at the university.... The place held about 1200 people, and maybe not even 700 went... at first, Finger 11 opened for them, and I was right there in the Mosh.. then Powder Finger came on (Cool Austrailian band) and then Moist!! Between acts, I met Paul, and Kevin, Finger 11 nd Powder Finger, (caught many good glimpses of David) and afterwards my friends met the whole band! Unfortunatly, my ride had to pee so we had to wait for him, and miised an encounter with David! But while I was Body Surfing, You could see him perfectly!!! God David is Gorgeous!!! After my body surfiung adventure, I left the pit, and stood on a speaker, a ghuy told me to get off and when David finished Silver, he told him I could stand there, he even waved to me and my sisters friends (the many poeple i went with!!!) It was an experience within it''s self! I wish I could do it every day!!! Well until the next Moist encounter LAter! Amy

MOIST REVIEW FROM THE EDMONTON SHOW NOV. 15, 1997

first of all, we have to say that there was alot of un-necessary bashing going on for this show. you got the media , and the fans who thought there should have been a pit for this show, course we would have perfered a pit also but......that's not the point! you support them on ANY musical endever ! Holly Mc Narland ROCKED! she's got an amazing voice and is definatly a good touring partner for moist.we would write more on holly, but since this isn't the holly page..... note: Elmo rocks live! set list: (not in a ny particular order except for some and the encore) SILVER (1ST) HATE (2ND) DICSO DAYS ( WITH HOLLY MCNARLAND ) CREATURE TANGERINE LEAVE IT ALONE PICTURE ELVIS BELIEVE ME (ACOUSTIC) SHOT GUN BRING HER DOWN RESURRECTION ENCORE: GASOLINE MACHINE PUNCH THROUGH " SUN IS GONE?" ??????????????????????????????? (PAUL'S SONG) PUSH SHREIKING LOVE---ENTER SANDMAN----BILLIE JEAN-----SHREIKING LOVE could somebody please explain the bagpiper in the beginning? it was cool....but i don't get it. all the songs were really cool and david usher shows amazing control over his voice even when thrashing about. disco days fetured hollly mcnarland doing the " high part" in the song. she did very well except half the time you couldn't really hear over the screams. she also looked really shy doing it. .before resurrection , jeff played a little mandolin intro. it was kinda cool cause it shows he can play more than just bass.....and man can he play bass! i swear the one good thing about this was that you could actually see the whole band . Tangerine rocked it's just too bad i kept bumping in to the chairs. back to the muliti-musical talents of the band....kevin played trumpet at the beging of creature and during the encore paul sang. and yres....the drummer can sing! he then went behind the drums and sandg and played. until david came back from " putting his clown suit on" which we like to loosly translate into" he had to pee" ...of course everyone sang along to the radio hits..but that's all they knew the words to....me and my sister sang like through the entire thing! believe me was done acoustically and was definatly a change to the norm. the cello part was very nice in that. the cello was present through out pretty much all of the show but it could have been louder. david took time to tease the crowd every now and then, even though it wasn';t hard since like 80% of the crowd was screaming girls...one time i could have actually stood having a little more testosterone in the room. and david was up to his little antics ince again. he stood above one of the security guards , slowly lowering his microphone down onto his head.....i was screaming" do it man! do it!" but no...the guy looked up. the first time david dared to go up to the edge of the stage a mass of girls attacked the stage. man you should have seen the security guards faces! and then there was this chick in a manson shirt in the front row who was like rocking out hard core...to moist.....you figure it out. ...then he went after jeff with water, drooling in his ear....niiiicee...and of course no keyboard is sacred ...they went down baby...but all david wanted was a hug....paul kept flippin dave off..no clue why..not sure i really understood that either. mark seems to always be in another relm of conciousness when he plays..i for one was pleased that i could see every finger movement he made...and especially jealous of his GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD!!! and then there's paul.,,, nobody can ever call him a stupid drummer if you actually take the time to peel your eyes away from dave and the others...paul is rockin out . note the reflextion of his head...a little too much wax today pauly? just kidding!..must admit though he has one hell of a voice...who knew? kevin rocks on keyboards as always..never thought playing piano could actually be that fun. the shreiking love part of the encore was the same as when they came in january but hey it rocks every time. the encore really got everyone going. the left side of the theatre stood more and the right side had somebody's mom re-living the stones concert. not sure what she was on but it's good to see that moist appeals to all ages. feel sorry for the kids though. overall it was an awesome show. although it could have been longer. it was a nice attempt but moist show's definatly need to be void of chairs. there's no way you can actually just sit and watch this band without wanting to jump up and start interpretive dancing along with david usher. definatly a high-energy band!. for evyone who thought it sucked...your wrong!!! (mike ross of the edmonton sun wrote a shitty review ,so don't read it and send him hate mail) but at least he wrote a review un like the edmonton jouranal who was too absorbed in the petty little grey- cup event ..to even bother witting anything on a band that deserves more crdit than abunch of guys slamming into eachother....that SHOULD NOT be wearing spandex. beside you wanna see body slammin...you can see that at moist..AND you get the half time show at the same time! ] sorry for the extremly long review but there's so much to say and so little space to d o it in Barb and Angie (spruce grove) FrEaK69620 7th row centre main floor!

Please keep on checking back, cuz i'll post more reviews up. Remember to send your review to me. thanx=)
