Watch us build our park.
Two second grade classes worked to design and
build a wildlife animal park as part of a pilot program that was designed by The College of
New Jersey in conjunction with the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. Both classes engaged
in independent and cooperative learning experiences that included research, design,
construction, and presentation. The students designed a park in which visitors could learn
about animals in four man-made versions of real wildlife habitats. So... enjoy your visit to the
animal park...and remember, drive slowly and don't feed the wild animals!
Students designed their own background for each of the four habitats. They also built feeders for the animals and vehicles to be used by staff and visitors to the park.

Tour guides stand ready as students
dressed as different animals prepare for the grand opening of the Wildlife Animal Park.
Toucans and spider monkeys tell visitors all about the tropical rain forest.
Lions let visitors know what the like do... and what they like to eat! Watch out giraffes. You're
on the menu!
