The Babylonian Outcalling

Today

(And how the Outcalling relates to today’s Spiritual Babylon’s)

“Come Out!”

A still yet to be (i.e. Future), fulfilled verse

(That can be fullfilled Today in some measure)

“...Come out of her (i.e. Babylon) my people, that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive her plagues; for her sins have piled up as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities” (Revelation 18:4,5)

What We as Christians Should Do?

The idea that God’s people are spread throughout Babylon and it’s false teachings have gotten into the People of God is not a new one. As you read in the above section on Babylon in the Old Testament Ezra and Nehemiah as well as a number of the Prophets deal with this problem. And as you read in the section on Babylon in the New Testament not only does Peter - at the beginning of his epistle - mention the People of God being scattered throughout the empire, but he also interestingly enough mentions the church at Rome being figuratively in Babylon. Martin Luther - the great reformer of the Christian faith - wrote a book called “The Babylonian Captivity of the Church.” and he was right. The church was being held captive and being influenced by the great harlot who has transcended nations and institutions from the fall of man until this very day. A number of books written since detail even further the influence that Babylon has had on this institution AND has had on the church’s that have come out of it and still points out areas in the church today that need reforming.

Even the book of Revelation mentions STILL a future - yet to be - Outcalling

Churches today - as in Ezra’s time - have picked up many false teachings about marriage and divorce (and believe me not all of it comes from the Roman Catholic Church. Babylon - is at times - everywhere). Almost anything goes today and justified from scripture, and many people are left hurt and despondent. This should not be brethren. God has given us standards.

If there are cases as in Nehemiah’s time where no word seems to be given (Click Here) we may need to seek out direction from the prophetic. (They are given to the church for a reason).

Teaching can only do so much brethren. If a brother or a sister is contemplating a divorce from their believing and remarrying that is a NO - NO, and should be stooped at all costs. Even if a believing spouse who divorces an unbeliever chooses to remarry serious questions still need to be addressed. Most notably - are they correct in their assertion that their spouse is an unbeliever? Pastors should be cautious about remarrying anybody. Talking to an objective third party who knows the situation or the ex-spouse may be wise before joining two new people together.

Again, teaching and discernment can do many things, but there are limits to some things, that is why we have the prophetic.

Brethren, from what I see in regards to the believer / unbeliever marriages (listed in brown above) an unbeliever has to leave either physically (i.e. Desertion) or in a defacto (i.e. defaulting) sense (i.e. Neglect, Physical Abuse) for the marriage covenant to be nullified. I do not see - except in case # 1 above - this “Outcalling” primarily in the sense of believers leaving an unbelieving spouse without grounds (i.e. no abuse etc.). The “Outcalling “ is more like a wake up call for those who have grounds to leave an unbeliever to reconsider their options (i.e. my unbelieving spouse has left me, what’s God’s will for my life?)

I’m not sure anyone (including the Prophetic) has the right to say you should leave an unbelieving spouse and remarry without grounds unless you - as a Christian - married one, and even then, not only do you still need a word from the Lord in that matter but even then it’s the unbeliever who is the one’s who will has to leave, NOT YOU! e.g. Ezra, and even Hagar; or in our day’s it would be a court order etc.) You cannot just leave and remarry in an “without ground” case, THEY HAVE TO LEAVE and it will have to be accompanied by some kind of word.

Personally I think that the word will be accompanied by grounds (unless you can just ask them to leave and they do so). And Please Note: if the prophetic in these cases say it’s OK to get “without ground” people to leave it will probably be because there are other grounds that - while not mentioned specifically in the bible- are never the less valid grounds (from a “civil” sense) to get an unbeliever out of the house (i.e. to get them to leave) and that would be though a court order (e.g.. molestation, alcoholic abuse), only then can a believer fill for divorce and remarry.

You can’t rule out the prophetic brethren. If you feel you can, I’d like to know how?

And the prophetic better get “their act” together. They are employed by the Church and have a job to do. The prophets are given to the church for a reason and it’s come time for them - if they haven’t done so already - to distinguish themselves and shine forth the light of the word on these matters.

But if there are no grounds - and the prophetic has NOT spoken - then the unbelievers have the right to stay just like the Gibeonites (Joshua 9:1-27).

In regards to believer divorcing their believing spouse to remarry another believing spouse, well... that is just NOT to be done.

Brethren, the Babylonian Outcalling in Ezra’s time was a calling out from the captivity of Babylon and an Outcalling from the world (Babylonia) (i.e. being bound together with unbelievers). They were a royal priesthood (compare Ezra 9:1 with 1 Peter 2:9). But again, if they were to dissolve their marriages it was the unbelievers who were the ones who had to leave, even if they were forced to do it.

Again, brethren teachers can outline and explain, sometimes very prophetically, and even though there is an overlapping of gift’s and giftings it basically the prophetic (or prophets) who energize the Gospel truth and inspire the workers to build the work of the Lord (Ezra 5:2; 6:14). Teachers can only do so much and they can shed light on may questionable cases, but the prophetic needs to rise to and shed light on cases where teachers can’t

Churches had better get “their act” together. Specifically in regard to a churches discipline of those believers who have illegitimately left their believing spouse (i.e. sinned against them) and remarried other believers, or remarried other believers who have been divorced from another believer too. There are 5 steps for them to take in regards to theses matters (Click Here) and believers who have been sinned against (i.e. their spouse left them for someone else) have the right to ask the church to follow through with their part in the process. Again they have this right, so be prepared for them asking you to help in these matters.

In regards to believers marriages to each other...

Is it so hard to believe that God wants His children to stay together and work out their problems? Is it so unreasonable to believe that a Christian woman who married a Christian man should expect him to take care of her for the rest of her life? That God would want someone to commit themselves to providing a nurturing environment for the kids as well as permanent comfort for her on own welfare? Is it such an unreasonable presumption on the man’s part that he expect his wife to always be there, and to do her part in the marriage? Is it an unreasonable thing for a child to expect a mother and father - both at home - to provide for their needs? Are these hard unreasonable things to expect of the Children of God? God expects His children to work out their problems. If they have problems He has a solution. It may involve Church discipline [Click Here to see the 5 Steps] or it may involve something a simple as acting according to 1 Corinthians 13, and saying a simple prayer in faith. Again, WHATEVER the problem, He has a solution.

In regard to the proof text that a Christian should not marry a Christian divorced from another Christian, one need not go into the priest hood regulations of the Old Testament to prove your point. (although “you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9) makes a very tempting case) One need only to go to 1 Corinthians 7:10, 11 and see what Paul says about it the subject (and remember he is quoting the Lords teaching on this subject too).

[Again, see the contrast between 1 Corinthians 7:10, 11 and 1 Corinthians 7:15. (i.e. if believer leaves STILL BOUND; if unbeliever leaves NOT BOUND). Again a true contrast in context. Don’t let anyone kid you into bringing some “outside” exemption into this passage (i.e. except for adultery). If Paul meant there to be an exemption he would have said that (like he did for the unbeliever, i.e. “if the unbelieving one leaves, let him leave; the brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases”. Again if unbeliever leaves NOT bound, if believer leave STILL bound).

Remember in the context of the letter believers are ALWAYS bound. Always, even if one leaves and remarries someone else 1 Corinthians 7:11. If they do this they are in a state of sin and need to repent. Context]

We Need ...

churches today that will issue decrees against illegitimate Christian marriages (that is: Christians married to Christians who are divorced from other Christians), and issue it on paper and read it before the whole church.

We also need churches today that will grant Christians annulments on paper from marriages that the churches decide are illegitimate.

We also need boards appointed by churches that will investigate and deal with as well as help Christians that are wrestling with all these areas.

Most of all we need Nehemiah’s today who know where to draw the line (click here ).

Brethren, the issuing of decree on paper (or a “writ”) by a church is a legal document. Some Christians may have need of it in their discussions to back up their claim (s) (or at the very least may need the ‘writ’ for a sense of personal encouragement).

Brethren, there are many trials ahead for our brothers and sisters who fall into these categories and they may need that encouragement,

and what I mean by that is that they will KNOW for certain that THE CHURCH IS standing behind them and with them through all they will be going through)

Which church(es) will be the first to “step up to the plate” and issue a writ?

To which churches will the continuing reformation of the church come?

“Rebuild the Walls of Jerusalem” Lord (Psalm 51)

Brethren, don’t let the mockers stop you. Draw those lines! Rebuild the wall.

Babylon: a mixture of people. ‘Come ye out’

“Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what harmony has Christ with Belial?, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God has said... Therefore, come out from their midst and separate, says the Lord... And I will welcome you...(2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

(If you want you can change the sentence structures around and put this sites content in your own words. Then put your name on the book or tract and shop it around to some publishers. Most of this sites content is desperately in need of rewrite so putting your name on a rewritten work is probably a good idea, actually a very good idea).

May God bless you in your efforts.
