- February 18, 1478 - Clarence is murdered. (Act 1, Scene 4)
- April 9, 1483 - Edward IV dies. (Act 2, scenes 1-3)
- April 30, 1483 - Rivers, Grey, and Vaughan arrested by Richard and Buckingham. (Act 2, scene 4)
- May 4, 1483 - Prince Edward arrives for his coronation. (Act 3, scene 1)
- June 13, 1483 - Hastings executed. (Act 3, scene 4)
- June 24 and 25, 1483 - Richard is petitioned to take the throne. (Act 3, scene 5)
- June 25, 1483 - Rivers, Grey, and Vaughan executed. (Act 3, scene 3)
- Summer 1483 - Richard and Richmond's forces build up. Meanwhile, Prince Edward and the Duke of York are murdered by James Tyrell and Buckingham betrays Richard. (Act 4)
- November 2, 1483 - Buckingham is executed. (Act 5, Scene 1)
- August 22, 1483 - Battle of Bothworth Field. Richard killed, Henry VII crowned. (Act 5 Scenes 2, 3, 4, and 5)
