6* Letter To The Editor Dear Editor, Yes the military are dedicated to their country and yes they are proud to be Americans but they are being taken advantage of because of these two reasons. First the Gulf War was a Gulf War and not none of our business. Papa George had monetary reasons to emgage our military in that war. Then when he went over there to gloat Saddam put a hit on his head. Then little George got it into his head he was going to get Saddam even if he had to cheat and steal the White House. Then little George made up this lie about Weapons of Mass Destruction that Saadam was supposed to have. Russia, Germany and France did not believe this lie so their trading with the USA was weaned down not only by the White House but the USA citizens also. They poured out the French wine and champagne and canceled France`s President Chirac`s visit to Louisiana for the Louisiana Purchase celebration. There was never any animosity showed the Germans during the Iraq war by the American citizens? Why? I did not see any vodka poured out because of the Russians denial to enter the Iraq war either? Now Joe I am still in the military on indefinite leave and three fourths of the patriotic enfluence is that we are fighting for freedom. Freedom from what? The Boston Tea Party was supposed to be to be free from taxes from the British. Today we pay thirty eight cents tax on a galloon of gas for our State and Federal roads repairs. We still pay eighteen to twenty five per cent on our income and that is either eighteen or twenty five cents on a dollar. Louisiana has the lowest minimum wages in the USA. Restaurant employees do not make half the minimum wage here in Louisana. The restaurant workers pay the same tax per centage wise as the minimum waged person. Information printed in several news papers state that a person has to make $15.50 an hour to make ends meet and that nationwide is a hair above the poverty level. Little George says we need eighty billion dollars this year alone to help Iraq get back on their feet. Who knocked them off their feet little George? We need eighty billion dollars to get the victims of hurricane Isabel back on their feet little George. There are no oil wells to profit off from in North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania and South Carolina though, are they little George? So you are on your own people. Good bye wallets. Amen W.
