Ocean County Chapter of Compassionate Friends is one of the oldest in the country, we have been meeting for nearly 30 years. Our meetings, held on the First Tuesday of the month, are always open to bereaved families. There is no need to contact us before attending a meeting, you may just come when you are ready. Everyone at our meetings knows the tension that can come from first joining us, please know that you will be welcome, that you are not obligated to speak and feel free to bring someone with you for support.
The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization which offers friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause. There is no religious affiliation. There are no membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome.
The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families in the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child and to provide information to help others be supportive.
The Compassionate Friends of Ocean County would like to thank Community Medical Center, Toms River for printing our monthly newsletter and the Ocean County Board of Freeholders for the use of the cafeteria for our meetings.
Compassionate Friends of Ocean County Chapter meetings are held at 7:30PM on the FIRST Tuesday of every month in the Cafeteria of the Ocean County New Administration Building, 129 Hooper Ave, Toms River. Turn off Hooper onto Madison and drive to the rear of the building and enter the parking garage, go to the third level and you will be at the cafeteria level . This is the same level as the walkway across Hooper Ave connecting the Admin Building to the Justice Building.
