Hello Booktalk Members: At our last meeting we said Goodbye to Barbara. Barbara, one of our first memebers is leaving for new horizons in Georgia. We'll miss you Barbara. Keep in touch. At the last meeting, we were supposed to continue our discussion on Frederick Douglas encompassing his relationship with his wife Anna and his mistress Ottalie after we read Love Across Color Lines by Maria Diedrich. Unfortunatly, many of us either didn't get the book or didn't finish it,so we celebrated Barbara leaving. Our next meeting, which will be held in January, we will be reading The Emperor of Ocean Park by Steven L. Carter. Shelly will host. The date and time will follow. Hope to see you then. Please email her with your RSVPS. OUR HISTORY: The NJ Girls Booktalk was started by Karen and Sharon, friends and co-workers who shared a love of books and a good discussion. The first meeting was held on March 4th 1994 at Karen's home. They started the book club to share new books, thoughts and to expand the subject matter of the books they read.OUR GOALS: |
