Purpose

The purpose of this website is to
provide elementary students studying French a
chance to research European Explorers in the target language. Both the resources
and online questions will be
written in beginning level French.

Using the target language, students will be able to:

- Name three French explorers of North America
- Identify what each was searching
- Identify how each traveled
- Locate on primary and secondary source maps where each explored
- State the date of the explorers' first voyage
- Study portraits of the explorers and interpret their emotions
- Imagine what would their own emotions be if they were to explore Mars
- Using a Venn diagram, compare and contrast explorers' emotions with their
own
